Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
DACA is a deferred action policy created and implemented by President Obama via executive action, in 2012. It is aimed at protecting qualifying young undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children, who are commonly referred to as “Dreamers.” DACA temporarily shields them from deportation and provides them work authorization with possible renewal every two years.
PCIS provides support for DACA applications and fees. Renewals can be supported now and assistance for first time applications will be provided when the program reopens. PCIS pays for Kitsap Immigrant Assistance Center (KIAC) to provide advice about requirements and prepare the applications, and PCIS will pay for the application fee.
PCIS payments will be available to Pacific County residents with income at or below the 400% poverty level. Check the website below to see if you qualify for DACA.
